What happens at a football trial?

For example, a football trial may consist of 20 minutes of fitness training, 20 minutes or drills, and 20 minutes of match time. Ideal would be to not spend all of your energy during the first part of the trial so you have nothing left for the match. Try to keep a steady pace until the match when you really give it your all!

What makes a footballer stand out?

Excellent mental toughness (abililty to stay focused, determination, competitive spirit, ability to perform under pressure) Strong, but not over developed arms. Team oriented (not ball hogs) Ability to see the whole field and play a ball to space; creativity.

What do scouts look for in a player?

All of that refers to a player’s agility, balance, change of direction skills, hip flexibility, knee bending, body quickness, lateral movement ability and leaping ability among other things. If the coach/scout sees the player has adequate athleticism, then he’s really interested now.

How much does a trial cost?

Our trials consist of one training session, so the cost starts at £5/session.

What do football scouts look for in 10 year olds?

Movement and mental skills. Particularly for offensive-minded players, movement is critical, and scouts are looking for a natural desire from kids to find space and look for opportunities to get the ball. Much like a game of chess, scouts also want to see evidence of youngsters thinking three or four moves in advance.

What are the teams we organize trials for?

Our trials consist of one training session, so the cost starts at £5/session.
